While on the Yoga/Detox Retreat hosted by Lisa and Adam at Drishti Yoga Centre, an ancient Indian body purification technique, also known as Kriya Cleansing was quickly introduced to our group, as what would become a morning routine during our retreat.
Kriyas are cleansing techniques used to purify the body and mind which ultimately open the pathways of the body, the nadis, the energy body, the mind, and the heart.
Ultimately, while we are used to cleansing ourselves externally, this technique cleanses from the inside, leaving you feeling detoxified and refreshed.
Kriya Cleansing is also referred to as Shat kriyas (six purification processes), which are designed to purify the body and promote good health.
During the Yoga/Detox Retreat, we practiced the following 5 techniques, which I now perform at home.
