My partner absolutely LOVES shepherd’s pie, it was one of the dishes he enjoyed growing up.
I remember during our earlier years, his mom came for a visit, and while I was prepping the food, she noticed the ingredients on the counter. Her reaction was like “umm… what are we making here?!” – funny and priceless!
I decided to put a little twist on the traditional shepherd’s pie recipe, and rather than using ground beef, I use a round roast which is juicy and tender, which gives this recipe a different texture from the traditional.
This recipe takes a while, as the roast needs to slow cook for a few hours, but it will be worth it in the end!
